TIN UNIVERSE DAILY #239

#239

There are so many versions of some stories.
Especially when a prospective to the title of The Pledge is screwing with reality in Utah.

He handed her his flask as she sat on top of a huge marble slab, part of the forest ruins. She was trying to catch any bit of breath she could find to force it into her lungs.
‘Drink,’ He told her, ‘Go ahead, it will calm you a little before we head for the city.’
Joanshir took a large drink from the flask, shook her head like she just drank sewer water mixed with gasoline, and stood up with new energy.
‘Thank you stranger for giving me a hand in battle. You fought bravely.’
The stranger put away the flask in an inside pocket to his blood red jacket that seemed to dance with a red dust.
‘Nothing brave about knowing how to kill,’ he told her, ‘Those creatures are quite the experts at that particular talent.’
She gave him a queer look before turning to look in the direction of the city where she spotted the smoke in the moon sky.
A lot of smoke.
The stranger put a hand on her shoulder, ‘The vampires are out for one thing my dear and we need to get there quickly before they find out where my old friend Merlin hide it.’
The stranger and Joanshir began a full on sprint for the city. Joanshir’s heart felt like it was going to explode from her chest but also as she ran beside this man who came to fight by her side against the vampires she could not help but be curious about any mortal man who called Merlin friend, if he was a mortal man at all.

The sale of this book without its cover….well, is, sort of, impossible since it really doesn’t have a cover but let us go through the legal spray out anyways. If you purchased this book without a cover, you should be aware that it was reported to the publisher as “unsold and destroyed.” Hands up to you who have books like this in your collection? Now that I put my hand down we can continue with the credits and copyright and legal and stuff that people just don’t ever pay attention to unless it is pumping their own horn.
