NO REFILL: WAIT UNTIL THE SUNSET DIES- PART 19
She
has been within the city for a time that has passed as twenty years in the
flesh world. Ashly is a convert to the ways of the ruler on a journey as he is
leading to destroy the paths and worlds of pain.
Delta
was sitting at the table drinking wine made from the roots of trees that grow
within the city as Ashly prepared a fruit snack for both of them after she had
prepared a good meal of bread and cheese.
‘Did
the man with many arms find you yet?’
Sitting
at the table with a bowl of the snack Delta was caught off guard as he was
looking around the bare room because Ashly is nothing but smiles and joy as if
she had just found a long lost brother.
‘Sorry,
no, I just wondered here.’
‘Happens
sometimes. Would you like some peaches with sugar?’
Delta
took one of the pieces of fruit from the bowl on the table.
‘You
can wait here and we can talk or wonder some more. I can let them know where
you are.’
Delta
put the fruit back into the bowl and finished his wine, ‘I cannot be found out
until I strike.’
‘Do
not worry, the confusion will leave your mind soon.’
Ashly
took Delta’s cup and went to refill it in the kitchen. As she got up from the
table and turned towards the kitchen a pain thrusts itself into her body. It
was almost like someone had punched her in the back but she was also feeling
calm now, like you do after having your breath knocked out of you and you first
start to feel air coming back into your lungs. Then she fell to the floor of
her home with blood spreading around the stone.
Delta
stood over her holding his sword.
