Tin Universe Daily #244

#244

There are so many versions of some stories.
Especially when a prospective to the title of The Pledge is screwing with reality in Utah.

Deep within a forest in a carriage pulled by the blackest and most beautiful horses you could ever find anywhere sat a vampire. This vampire was one of the oldest of his kind in creation. One who had traveled through time, been to many Heavens and Hell, and feed on the blood of some of the most honorable warriors in creation. This potent creature has only and still only cares about one thing- Power.
He has gone by the name Russia for the past few centuries but he has had many others. Only one thing in creation overwhelms his desire for power and that is his hunger for revenge against a man who kept him from obtaining true immortality. He hungers for the death of a man who has created a legend in this false land for himself as a wizard. He hungers for the death of the man called Delta.

Merlin’s chambers where being shadowed in light as torches signaled the entrance of Merlin, Delta, Guinevere, and Joanshir.
Guinevere was leading the group having changed into her own armor while everyone else finished up the final planning for what was about to happen.
‘Lancelot, Arthur; and Perceival will guard our rear while you wizards work,’ commanded the queen.
Delta bowed his head to her before speaking, ‘My lady I am no wizard. My father was Dutch, not a demon like my friend Merlin.’
Guinevere looked to Merlin to see if he would react in anger but he did not and she thought he must not take the comment as any sort of insult at all.
Merlin moved towards a door, one of the many that was within his chambers, but before knocking he turned to the ones accompanying him, ‘Things get hairy from here.’
Merlin knocked on the door and shouted out a password only he and Lancelot knew to signal Mordred that it was safe to open the inner chamber door, ‘McDonalds!’

Tin Universe Daily #243

#243

There are so many versions of some stories.
Especially when a prospective to the title of The Pledge is screwing with reality in Utah.

Guinevere was going over the plans they had with Lancelot and Arthur; while sitting at The Round Table eating were Merlin and Perceival. All but Merlin were scared silly though when out of thin air appeared Joanshir and someone all of them recognized on top of the table.
‘I hate when someone uses one of those disks when I am near!’ shouted Perceival.
Lancelot helped Joanshir down from the table and Guinevere immediately grabbed her in an embrace.
Merlin stood up and smiled like Merlin normally does not do at the stranger standing on the table. Arthur also seemed happy to see this person also.
‘Delta,’ Merlin chirped.
Delta jumped down from the table taking Merlin’s hand and shaking it, ‘Merlin, what havoc have you caused now?’
‘Not my doing old friend. Russia is finally ready to make his final stand against us.’
Delta grabbed Arthur’s hand in friendship and hugged him and did the same with Lancelot. He bowed to Guinevere and then turned back to face Lancelot once again, ‘Do you still have my blade around here somewhere?’
Lancelot bent down and reached up under the table and pulled out a sword like no other in Camelot because there was no other like it in Camelot. You see Merlin, who obtained it during a visit to Rome, gave it to Delta as a gift.
Joanshir walked up to Delta as the others gathered around Merlin as he told them what they had to do to save Camelot.

An hour later as the planning was still going on, and Merlin was now asleep on Arthur’s throne, Joanshir was sitting near Delta as he ate, ‘You are the famous wizard Delta?’
‘Famous am I? I don’t know if I like that. I’m really supposed to be as conspicuous as possible.’
‘My father spoke of you once. He said you were more human than Merlin but seemed just as tortured in the soul.’
‘Your father was a very wise man,’ Delta stood up to walk away, ‘But my soul is gone and it is not a subject I wish to discuss.’
Joanshir was left wondering about this stranger who she found herself very attracted to.

Tin Universe Daily #242

#242

There are so many versions of some stories.
Especially when a prospective to the title of The Pledge is screwing with reality in Utah.

Deep within the castle, below the dungeons, and past the depths of the cold of the Earth to the chambers of Merlin. Sitting in a chamber which when entered seemed more like a small church were Ywain, Knight of the Round Table and son of Morgan. Also by his side were Mordred his half-brother and one of the most noble of Camelot’s Knights.
Ywain had a charge as The Protector And Guardian Of The Nine Maidens Crystal. The most powerful object in Merlin’s keeping and considered by many to be one of The Seven Treasures Of Creation. But with The Nine Maidens Crystal it has more to do with the power it contains within it than simply the sight of its beauty or its rarity of existence.
Sitting within this church like chamber Ywain studies scriptures and other writings given to him by Merlin to pass the time. He is not allowed to leave the chamber for any reason and if he does so his punishment is death on orders from King Arthur himself.
With his charge as protector of the crystal, Ywain has become a Knight who has never known combat, but is still one of the most respected of the Round Table Knights. Other Knights come to him for counsel and teachings and he has taken an oath of chastity to keep any temptation to come between his desires and the protection of the crystal.
That oath really pissed Perceival off but that is a story we do not have the time to go into here.
Mordred on the other hand, a noble and brave Knight he maybe, could never have taken on the charge his half-brother lived day in and day out. Mordred has always had this gut battle deep within that has had him throughout his life trying to prove himself over and over again and is known as the Knight who never sits still for very long; so, putting him in a small chamber below the depths of the castle would have had him wishing to join his comrades above in the defense of the kingdom.
But he has his orders also to where he is now.
And with his orders and by his blood he will defend his brother until his death if needed.

Tin Universe Daily #241

#241

There are so many versions of some stories.
Especially when a prospective to the title of The Pledge is screwing with reality in Utah.

‘So you are Gawain’s daughter?’
‘Was…’
Joanshir and the stranger had arrived near the outside walls of the city where they rested and watched as hundreds if not thousands of armored vampires where attacking.
The stranger looked up as if trying to find the words to use as Joanshir was looking for something on the ground, which was, near a huge oak tree. As she was doing this he looked at her knowing he was looking at a person who should not exist in any way.
‘Your father saved my life when myself, Merlin, and Lancelot first battled these creatures. He was supposed to stay behind but many thought we were on a suicide mission and he did not wish to watch us die without him by our side trying to keep that from happening. And we would have if not for him.’
She found what she was looking for without acknowledging what he had said. She pulled from the ground an object. It was a circular disk. She reached it out for the stranger to take, ‘Hold onto this with me. It’s magic from Merlin. It will take us to the side of the King.’
The stranger took hold of the disk with a smile knowing what it was and both of them disappear.

Tin Universe Daily #240

#240

There are so many versions of some stories.
Especially when a prospective to the title of The Pledge is screwing with reality in Utah.

‘Perceival, is the dungeon secure?’
Perceival had entered the great hall of the castle to find Lancelot standing with King Arthur, Merlin, and Queen Guinevere.
‘I laid the magic’s Merlin gave us to keep them at bay. That was after killing eight of the creatures first and to my hand those evils are fierce fighters.’
Merlin was sitting in the King’s throne chair with a faraway look on his face but his speech came with full attention from all, ‘You should see the ones in the flesh world Knight.’
Everyone paid him no mind at the moment for they knew how at times of crisis Merlin usually faded off in thought for a while until forming plans.
Arthur, Lancelot, and Guinevere where standing by the famous round table itself and Perceival joined them there. Guinevere patted him on the face, ‘Perceival, you should rest.’
Perceival kissed her hand, ‘No time for rest my lady,’ he said before turning to Lancelot, ‘What is our next action? The magic’s of Merlin now have them kept from entering the castle but our people and fellow Knights are dying outside these walls.’
Lancelot smiled at his friend, ‘Merlin says they are after something or they would not be here. He is meditating on the subject now…’
The King jumped in, ‘But until he gets to the answer we need to defend our homes, our people.’
Guinevere smiled. She loves seeing how much he cares about his people.
Lancelot pulled a knife from his belt and began to carve out the shape of the castle on the sacred table and then the city and the city walls, ‘The word that came from Aggravaine is that Gawain has fallen. He found his body in the stables.’
Guinevere put her hand on Lancelot's and he pulled it away knowing her meaning, ‘No my lady I have heard nothing about Joanshir but I say she is out there fighting.’
Perceival sat down in a chair, ‘That girl is already one of the best fighters in the kingdom on heart alone. I say she is also.’
Lancelot spoke up again, ‘I think Perceival is right. No fear for her I think we need to have.’ Lancelot quickly changes subject, ‘Ector is leading the defense of the city. He quickly gathered all Defender Knights along with all of the people of Camelot to push back this undead march.’
The King walks over towards the thrones of Camelot and sits in Guinevere’s seat because Merlin was still in his, ‘And what of Mordred?’
Merlin stood up suddenly and began stretching his arms as if just awaken from a very long sleep, ‘Mordred is with his brother Ywain protecting my secrets. Now Lancelot what is our next move?’
Lancelot, who has always had a dislike of Merlin, but respected him out of the love his King had for the old wizard placed his knife back into his belt with force before turning to talk to Merlin, ‘That was what our waiting was for, to hear from you Warlock?’
Merlin pats the king on his head like a little child and then walked over to The Round Table, ‘I am awaiting a friend who just arrived.’
Merlin grabs an apple off the table, ‘Then we let the creatures in.’
That did not put the stunned look that sat on the faces of the others in the room. The statement of Merlin having a friend did it.

TIN UNIVERSE DAILY #239

#239

There are so many versions of some stories.
Especially when a prospective to the title of The Pledge is screwing with reality in Utah.

He handed her his flask as she sat on top of a huge marble slab, part of the forest ruins. She was trying to catch any bit of breath she could find to force it into her lungs.
‘Drink,’ He told her, ‘Go ahead, it will calm you a little before we head for the city.’
Joanshir took a large drink from the flask, shook her head like she just drank sewer water mixed with gasoline, and stood up with new energy.
‘Thank you stranger for giving me a hand in battle. You fought bravely.’
The stranger put away the flask in an inside pocket to his blood red jacket that seemed to dance with a red dust.
‘Nothing brave about knowing how to kill,’ he told her, ‘Those creatures are quite the experts at that particular talent.’
She gave him a queer look before turning to look in the direction of the city where she spotted the smoke in the moon sky.
A lot of smoke.
The stranger put a hand on her shoulder, ‘The vampires are out for one thing my dear and we need to get there quickly before they find out where my old friend Merlin hide it.’
The stranger and Joanshir began a full on sprint for the city. Joanshir’s heart felt like it was going to explode from her chest but also as she ran beside this man who came to fight by her side against the vampires she could not help but be curious about any mortal man who called Merlin friend, if he was a mortal man at all.

TIN UNIVERSE DAILY #238

#238

There are so many versions of some stories.
Especially when a prospective to the title of The Pledge is screwing with reality in Utah.

At the center of the city of Camelot flames were beginning to engulf the dwellings within the city walls. The streets of the great city were in chaos from the stench and sights of death that are quickly filling it.
Animals for sport, pet, and food are running for their lives.
Peasants and slaves alongside Knights of Camelot were defending their homes from the invading undead army. The battles were fierce and brave but the numbers of the vampire army too much.
Within the castle of Camelot three armored vampires marched up steps from the dungeon with tongue swords in both hands. From above and without warning even to the heightened senses of a vampire a Knight by the name of Perceival came crashing down upon them causing a land fall of armored bodies down the dungeon steps to finally crash at the bottom in a heap of noise.
Perceival stood quickly with a huge smile on his face that Lancelot called his “smile of wanted fire” because there is nothing Perceival loves more than combat.
‘Come on blood suckers, not one of your kind has challenged me yet.’
Perceival is known for two things. One that he is one of the more attractive of the Knights of Camelot and two that he is probably the best swordsman putting Lancelot and Arthur both to shame in combat games.
The three armored vampires stand up to their feet and growled at Perceival bearing their blood soaked teeth.
‘Come now creatures. I have faced mad dragons. You do not expect to put fear into my arms with your posturing?’
Perceival charged forward grinning from ear to ear.
